Imbalance 2 page layout problems

I’m using the imbalance 2 theme for my blog. So far it’s working well. I want to create a new page of just photos and their captions as a portfolio page. When I add media to the page the images go all over the place and do not line up nicely. How can I change how they appear? I’ve tried changing their alignment individually and if I insert a gallery I lose the caption information. The page I’m talking about is here: http://woodtextilestudio.wordpress.com/selected-works/

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#alignment

The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.

Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.

Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.

Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).

If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.

To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the Text (HTML) editor after each image/text pair:
    <div style="clear:both;"></div>

For images side by side see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-alignment/#side-by-side

Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m afraid none of these things worked. When I inserted the code above I got everything in a column but still staggered. I also tried the side by side suggestion and ended up with everything out of order and captions and images no long together. Anything else I could try?

I was also thinking of using a thumbnail gallery to achieve the look I want but I’d rather have medium sized images. Is there a way to do this?

    thanks!

I figured it out! I changed the thumbnail size in settings/media then made a thumbnail gallery. All the photos and text line up nicely! Thanks!

Hooray! That looks so nice now. I’m happy I was able to help you. Best wishes with your blog.
