Impact of changing underlying URL on images

My concern is simple : if we change the underlying URL of our blog, what will happen to the hundreds of images that are currently uploaded with the old underlying URL and that are imbeded in our articles ? Will they be broken or will they remain the same, still in place, with the old URL (or even the new) ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Since you have a custom domain, I first need to know what you want to change. Do you want to change the underlying username.wordpress.com url or the domain url? If you just want a new domain and you are keeping the wordpress.com username the same you shouldn’t have a problem as all media is located at yourusername.files.wordpress.com. If it is the wordpress.com username you want to change, then I wouldn’t be surprised if you will be fine since you are completely moving the site, but I’m not so sure about that.

You should be fine as long as all your images are uploaded to the site’s media library, you should be fine.

All media files will retain the .wordpress.com URL.
