impact on current css if changing theme
-
Hi
I know this might be a daft question but…
I currently use Twenty Eleven Theme and have a lot of CSS changes. What considerations are there if I change to another theme eg Forever? Do I delete all the CSS as it only applies Twenty Eleven? If I left it there will it cause problems with the new theme?
Thanks in advance for any help

CSS is theme specific, so any CSS you have in Twenty Eleven would not work. Each theme designer decides how they will structure the HTML and CSS. You would need to customize Forever, or any other theme from scratch.

Hi thesacredpath
Thanks for your reply.
I have changed to the Forever theme and there are a few tweaks I would like to make but before asking for help with those, is the Forever theme a responsive theme? The reason I ask is that it doesn’t seem to adapt to the size of device ie phone.
Many thanks

Tracy, no Forever is a fixed width theme. For mobile visitors, you could go to Appearance > Mobile and activate the Mobile theme and then see what you think. It is pretty plainly styled and designed to load fast and use little bandwidth.

Forgot to ask, do you know of any other themes similar to Forever that are responsive?

Tracy, we have 14 free, responsive themes with a post slider, which you can review by clicking here.
The one that comes to mind is Ever After, which if memory serves me, was built off of Forever. It is missing the latest posts section that shows up on the main page under the slider though.
