I’m trying to import a blogg from a worldpress xml export file. The file is approx. 13 MB. How long should i expect it to take?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site i’m exporting from runs wordpress ver. 4.6.1. When importing from wp-admin site, it says the file isnt valid. Loading the file from wp.com site, it uploads and then nothing happens…

Have you tried exporting one more time, just in case the export didnt happen correctly the first time?

If you could check one more thing please, does your exported file have a .wxr extension.. Sometimes the file extension gets truncated in which case you will need to add it via rename.

Since the export file size is large, you may try to export in phases.
WordPress.org sites allow you to export, only pages, posts by dates / categories etc.
You may also try by exporting in parts via smaller files rather than doing it all at one go.

That is one thing i’ve also tried. I have eported media, sides etc which are smaller files. But i cant import these either…

No i’ve made a new account on this site. The blog i’m exporting has a different login. -
Solved! There where something wrong with one of the exported files. Thanks for the help! :-)
