  can you import a website from another host?

  My former web host sent me the files for my old website that I want to get up and running. I’m not sure how to import it.

  You will need to get an XML file from your old website. You can then follow the instructions to import content from that XML file.

  What was your old website made with (WordPress, Wix, etc)?

  I don’t see a XML file. Only SQL and PHP.

  What was your old website made with (WordPress, Wix, etc)?

  If the website is still up, you can post a link to it so we can check what it’s made with.

  I thought it was a wordpress site. But it’s not. My former webhost maintained my site for me.

  I’d suggest contacting your old web host and asking if they can provide an XML file. Content can only be imported into WordPress.com with an XML file.

  If your old web host is not able to provide an XML file you will most likely need to manually create your blog posts and pages within your WordPress.com site. It might help to view an archived version of your site on https://archive.org.
