Import & Exporting not working!

    I want to move my blog’s contents (aleevita.wordpress.com) to another blog here on wordpress.com. However when I export all the contents in the XML file output that wordpress gives you, it saves on my computer but it says it has 0 bytes. Either way I go and try to import it into a new wordpress.com blog and this message shows up:
    “Please upload a valid WXR (WordPress eXtended RSS) export file.”

    From what I understand, an XML file is a WXR file. “This format, which we call WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR, will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags.”

    So what exactly is the problem? I have posts and comments, so why is my exported file saving as if it was empty?

    Someone please be so kind to help me! Thanks in advance.
