Import Attached Files – not an option, and not working?

  Hi all,
  I’m importing a blog from a private WP.org (multiblog) host over to WP.com
  Other than the import that stopped partway through (I restarted it and all was well), this seems to be going nicely.

  However, the embedded blog post photo importing is NOT going so well.

  1) The docs say there’s a “Download and Import Attached Files” checkbox in step two of WordPress import. I don’t see that at all.

  2) SOME but certainly not all of the photos are being imported from the other blog. Few if any are being “attached” to the related postings in the new blog.

  Any ideas how to diagnose and resolve this?
  Do I need to manually delete the imported postings before trying again?

  I recommend contacting Staff directly about this export/import issue.
