import difficulty previously sent file but no answer and nothing is working

    Hello,

    I am trying to import from blogger, it has worked once but now it is not at all. I have never had a error message. I deleted everything just in case the xml file thinks they are duplicates. once all pictures were duplicated though but nothing is showing or working not in back office or on the actual page.
    PLEASE HELP! Someone called Herman has sent me an email asking for the file and I replied pretty much within the hour, that was 3 days ago and I have heard nothing, nor is it working.

    Could you please chase this up or look at it again???? I have not done anything different to the time it was working so i have no idea what the issue is.

    I really hope you guys can help me regain my happyness and thanks in advance or taking the time to look into this.

    I have everything backed up so i am not sure if deleting and resetting it up might be a solution?
    I just want to crack on with WP.

    I also tried to upload todays file and nothing again,……

    Hi, the XML file will help a bunch. I noticed Herman’s email to you, but we didn’t get your reply. Can you be sure to respond directly to our email (from the same address, with the same subject) so it will show up in our ticket system? Thanks!

    Hello Supernovia,

    Thanks for coming back to me. I just checked and Herman sent the email on 05/09 at 14:33 UK time, I replied with the file about an hour later with the file attached (help@wordpress.com). not altered the subject,…..

    Then replied to the same email again yesterday afternoon but added please reply into the subject and sent the new up to date file,….

    Do you want me to send again?

    I’ve just sent another reply to your email, go ahead and respond to that without an attachment to see if we get that response.

    Also, don’t modify the subject lines at all. That will help. Thanks!

    Hi @foodwizardryrecipes, I got your response this time (sorry for my slow response; I’ve been away). Still no import file, but your hello is there. Can you send the import file again? Or, if your mail program won’t let you attach it, can you upload it to a site like cloudup.com or dropbox, then send the link?

    I’m going to try importing what we have, but I did notice a brief message about the file not being valid. If you wouldn’t mind exporting once more, that would help, I think.

    It wouldn’t help if the trouble is with the export file. I’m hoping this latest one will do the trick. Right now I’m resetting the importer (it takes a while with Blogger) then I’ll try running it again for you.

    @foodwizardryrecipes I just took a deeper look at the files; it seems you’ve backed up the template rather than your posts. The template cannot be imported. But we can import the posts if your backup contains them.

    Please use these steps:

    Back up your blog
    When you back up your blog, you get an .xml file of the posts and comments:

    Sign in to Blogger.
    Click the blog to back up.
    In the left menu, click Settingsand thenOther.
    In the “Import & back up” section, click Back up Contentand then Save to your computer.

    Please create that file and upload it so we can try again. Thanks!

    Hello,

    I have not done anything different to any other time, I have no idea why this is but have given up on it now. Why can’t you manipulate the file and then upload it?

    ANyway I have the Theme SELA and on my static homepage there is bits missing, I am sending an email to help@wordpress for you to look at and hope you can help.

    I have tried to restore the “featured” thing but without any luck.

    I understand that you guys had trouble with my first request but can you please sort this for me?

    Also why can the pade be reset to default? Is this possible? I have all posts still on blogger and am happy to manually transfer everything but I wans to get back to the original state of it all before it all turned turdy,….
    Is that someything you can do? I am happy to resest everything and lose it all…… Also why is it not possible to delete and sign up again to the same name? at the present moment with all turdyness it seems like the only way tpo get back to the original state of it all.

    Please help me I am close to losing the will to live here.

    I am not sure what you mean here. I can empty a site prior to the import if you’d like. Your current work would be lost. And, aside from trouble with the export file, the work you’ve done so far is good.

    Please help me make sure I understand you properly though: the main issue is that we have not yet been able to import your posts and pictures from the old site, right? Please correct me if I’m wrong there.

    Why can’t you manipulate the file and then upload it?

    If I’ve understood your goal, the trouble we’re having is that the file you’ve used does not contain any of your posts. It’s only a theme.

    If an analogy helps, it would be like giving the movers blueprints of your old house instead of boxes of your stuff. We just need to move your stuff in for you, right?

    Until I read your file to see what was going wrong, I did not realize that Blogger lets you export those blueprints instead of your stuff, but that is all we’ve got so far.

    Please use these exact steps:

    Sign in to Blogger. Click the blog to back up. In the left menu, click Settingsand thenOther. In the “Import & back up” section, click Back up Contentand then Save to your computer.
