Import does not work

  • Unknown's avatar

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I found that import process has been successful but I have not received the confirmation email for more than a week and I cannot upload the remaining Xanga archive files onto my WordPress via the import function in my account. I tried my best to locate a solution via “contact support” but I failed to seek a answer. May I know how I can solve the problem? May I know whether you could help me reset the import function?

Thanks a lot for your time and effort in helping me solve the problem.

    Best regards,
    Bonnie

    Hi Bonnie,

Sorry for the trouble! The Xanga importer on your site got stuck, so I just reset it so you can try that import again.

If you have any more trouble with it, you can also import your Xanga files using the WordPress importer.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

    Dear Rachel,

My Xanga importer does not work well again, so a Xanga archive file has not been successfully imported into my WordPress account.

Should I import my Xanga archive files using WordPress importer now? Or should I do so after you help me fix the Xanga importer? I am not sure whether I take the former action now will cause any trouble to my WordPress account because two identical archive files simultaneously being uploaded onto my WordPress account. Please kindly advise. Thank you very much!

    With best regards,
    Bonnie

    Hi Bonnie,

I just reset your site’s Xanga importer, so you can try importing the files there or in the WordPress importer. (If you have trouble with the Xanga importer again, you can just switch to the WordPress importer right away and try that.)

    Dear Rachel,

A million thanks to you for your prompt and kind help. I have successfully uploaded all my Xanga archive files onto my WordPress account using the WordPress importer. What a nice, effective and efficient importer! I am greatly grateful to you for helping me solve all technical problems and I can view all my Xanga posts now.

I wonder if WordPress has a function that allows users in the easiest and most flexible way to create all WordPress posts into PDF documents? I searched online and found that there are some plugins (e.g. https://wordpress.org/plugins/pdf-print/) that offer such function but I encounter some technical difficulties, so I cannot use those plugins. I tried to simply use “Print as PDF” function in Chrome but failed to print all posts as a single PDF document. What I can further think of is that I may print each post as a single PDF document.

Anyway, thank you very very very much for your always prompt and kind help in reading and answering my questions as well as solving my questions. I owe you a debt of gratitude for all you have done for me.

With immense thanks and best regards,
    Bonnie

    Hi Bonnie,

I’m so glad the rest of the Xanga import worked for you! :)

I wonder if WordPress has a function that allows users in the easiest and most flexible way to create all WordPress posts into PDF documents?

There aren’t options built into WordPress.com specifically to convert posts into PDFs, but you can try a service like BlogBooker for that:

    http://www.blogbooker.com/

I have also personally used this site to save individual blog posts as PDFs:
