Import doesn’t get all posts

  I’m trying to export all posts from my blog at thatgirllisa.com and then import these into a self-hosted blog at girltalk24-7.com

  The problem is that when I import, it only imports 150 or so of the 2000 posts I have. What’s wrong here?

  Sometimes when there are a lot of posts it works better to break them up by date and do the import in chunks.

  There are two limits. Most webhosts limit file sizes to 10mb, and so does wordpress. What is the size of your file?

  16.6mb. Should I try to break them up into dates? Or contact hostgator and get the limit raised?

  I did all the “hacks” on my side to raise the limit I believe

  IMHO you ought to open the export file in a plain text editor and break the file sown into smaller “chunks”.
