Import doesn’t work

Tried to import old Xanga archives. 2 out of the 4 files didn’t show anything. 1 file never even sent the email saying it was uploaded, though it’s been over 24 hours. I’m just now trying the last file.

So I tried them again, and they’re all importing the same entries no matter which file I’m uploading.
And how do we get access to the photos that were part of it?

Well, xanga is obsolete now. That’s why I was importing the archives. But my screen name was aewtx, if that helps.

No, Xanga is obsolete now. But you can archive and import your entries into WordPress, which is what I’m trying to do. But of the 4 files they gave, only one worked, and the rest at first didn’t work but now are just copies of the one that worked.

I don’t think it’s on the Xanga end. All it is is downloading the files.
It’s once I’m in WordPress that it’s not pulling it correctly. The first time I tried importing it, 2 (our of 4) of the files didn’t show anything. 1 never even imported. Only 1 worked. Then when I tried it again later, they all only showed the same outcome (duplicate info).

We can’t really advise on what format your exports from Xanga were in since we didn’t create them. Again, without more information (like your Xanga site address), there’s not much we can do here to troubleshoot the issue as we’re not able to compare what you’re trying to import versus the content that was exported.
Also, did you wait to get the confirmation that the import was successful before uploading the next file?

I’m not asking what format the exports are in. My issue was they’re not importing into WordPress. It shows up as nothing. There’s nothing to compare, when it’s nothing.

Can you please try exporting your site from Xanga again? Here’s how: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-from-xanga/#step-two-create-a-xanga-export-file
Since you mentioned duplicates, you might want to empty your site of the imported content.
Just a quick note — if your Xanga site is no longer public (or online), images will not import to WordPress.com as they are not part of the export file.
