Import email addresses into WordPress to send invitations
-
I want to send invitations to my blog to many people. Is there a way to import my contact list from Gmail, so I can see a list and select the friends I want to send an invitation to?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy mylakay!
Importing your contact list from Gmail isn’t possible but you can add users by inviting them to your site!
To quote the support documentation:
How to Invite People to Your Site
1) Click on People -> Add in your My Sites Menu.
2) Type the user’s email address or WordPress.com username.
3)Select a role from the dropdown. Each user role has different privileges on the site, so choose carefully.
Note: The Follower role is only displayed for public WordPress.com sites and the Viewer role is only displayed for private WordPress.com sites.
Warning: Please be very careful when adding a new Administrator user to your blog. Other Administrators are effectively co-owners. They have as much power over your blog as you do, including the ability to permanently delete it.4)Optionally, you can enter a custom message that will be sent in the invitation to the person.custom_message
5)Click the Send Invitation button.
6)After sending the invitation, the person that you invited will receive an invitation email. follower-invite

Once the user clicks the “Accept Invitation” button in that email, they will now be able to access your blog by visiting the My Blogs section of their dashboard when they log in to WordPress.com.

Let me know if this helps!

The whole point of the question was so I did not have to know everyone’s email and have to key it in one by one. It would be so much better to see a list of email addresses from my contact list, and select whom to invite.
Sorry, but this answer was useless. I know how to add people one by one, but I do not have everyone’s email memorized.

I’m sorry. WordPress.com doesn’t have the feature to add everyone’s email via Gmail contacts. I think this previous thread answers your question better than I have, I apologize.
To quote @rachelmcr:
WordPress.com has a friend finder that can link to your Google contacts and find friends that are already using WordPress.com. However, that won’t automatically invite all of your contacts to follow your blog.
WordPress.com doesn’t have a feature to send out those invitations automatically — you’ll need to invite those followers in small batches or send out your own email to your full contact list with an invitation to follow your blog.
