Import Failure?

  My blog was deactivated.
  I exported to an xml file
  I imported to wordpress.org

  My blog is being hosted by host gator.

  Now What?

  To connect the domain you purchased to your new hosting, you should update the name servers to point to the ones Hostgator provides.

  I updated the name servers and they now point to host gator.

  It then takes me to my dashboard.

  You need to wait for the settings to propagate. Once that happens, you have to log in at Hostgator to manage your new WordPress site there. It will be completely separate from WordPress.com. Support for the open source version of the WordPress software is done at the volunteer forums at http://wordpress.org/support/
