im trying to import from another wordpress blog, but i keep getting an error message.

Are you attempting to upload your XML file into a self-hosted site, on a server other than ours at WordPress.com? It sounds so, given your error message.
If so, this isn’t something we’d be able to help you with. We don’t have access to outside servers. I can certainly assist if the issue is occurring here at WordPress.com, though!
If you explain what site you’re exporting FROM and what site/server you’re exporting TO, I can be more helpful.

Hi, I am exporting from https://splitdecisionsdotorg.wordpress.com/ to tetonbc.com, which is a new site that I edit with WordPress, but host on GOdaddy. I have another domain on Godaddy so i figured it made sense to host both in the same spot.

Since the file upload error is happening on GoDaddy’s servers, I’m afraid I can’t help investigate. I don’t have any access to your servers once you move to a self-hosted WordPress.org site.
However, GoDaddy’s custom support should be able to address that with you!
