Import Followers

Need to transfer wordpress.com followers/subscribers to self-hosted blog using Jetpack

Sorry! I’m looking to transfer my wordpress.com followers/subscribers using Jetpack, to a self-hosted (wordpress.org) blog. I read this article and it said to contact WP.com support to do this.

I can help you with that. However, I’m seeing your jetpack connected site as being located at http://69.195.124.113/~sicilia4/ which looks like a temporary site URL. Moving followers to a WordPress site set up at a temporary URL will just require them to be moved again when you set up jetpack at your final URL.
So, in short, get new site all set up the way you want it and connect to jetpack at your final URL, then post here and I can help you get your followers transferred.

my new site is set up, as far as I know.
it’s siciliannabeauty.comI’ve moved everything from the temp URL… i think!?

That did it!
I have migrated your subscribers and followers to your new site.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Hmmm I had over 1700 followers and now it’s at 491!?
Also, is there a way to transfer my comments, too?

And last Q: Is there a way to transfer my WP.com stats to the self hosted blog? That’s a huge concern for me because my PR reps look at those stats

The follower number displayed on WordPress.com counts twitter and facebook followers as well. When we migrate subscribers, we can only migrate WordPress.com followers and email subscribers. However, those followers aren’t “gone”, they still exist on FB and Twitter.

Comments would be moved as part of the export process:

Yes…maybe. The stats may transfer over very wonky, and we can undo them if possible. However, if you are going to think about redoing the import so that you have comments, we should do the stats ASAP after you make that import.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Ohhh!! re: followers, that makes sense!
I already exported my wp.com but not all comments transfered- that’s okay!
As for the stats, can we do that please? I really need those!
