Import from 1.5.1.3

Is there a way to import history from a WordPress 1.5.1.3 installation? When I run a “backup” in 1.5.1.3 I get a .sql.gz file, which isn’t a .wxr file.
Presumably all the images, custom tagging, and that sort of thing would be lost, but that’s OK as long as I can get the majority of the content (ie the text) in.

I ask in the “wordpress.org” forums if I am trying to import data from a 1.5.1.3 installation into wordpress.com?

I would ask there too, though.
I would guess – biiig guess – that you want that via xml. But that is just a guess. -
Does 1.5.1.3 have an export function?

Figured it out.
The solution is to get the wp-xmlmigrate plugin from here (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=13351&replies=5#post-96779), then edit the plugin to exclude category_count (just remove that phrase, plus the preceding comma from the plugin), run it, then import the resulting XML file.
