import from another wordpress blog didn't work

    Hi. I attempted to import from a wordpress blog (exported to XML) into a new wordpress blog, and it’s been well over 24 hours and the new wordpress blog still shows a status of ‘We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.’

    Steps I did:
    1. Exported the first blog to XML (from blog URL: housed.myblog.arts.ac.uk).

    In the new blog, housedcollective.wordpress.com (yesterday about 1:45PM GMT):

    2. WP Admin > Tools > Import > import from WordPress
    3. Selected XML file from hard drive location
    4. Selected import options (chose to import all data)
    5. Clicked button to begin import.
    6. Message appears: WordPress Import Processing – ‘We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.’

    It’s now 16:15PM GMT and has been more than 24 hours, and my WordPress Blog only has 1 draft post imported. The remaining 13 published posts and 5 published pages do not appear to have been imported at all. There are currently no categories or tags to import. Only the default ‘Hello World’ post is visible on my new blog, housedcollective.wordpress.com. Also, I am unable to re-instigate the import as the ‘import processing’ message appears when I click Tools > Import > WordPress.

    I have successfully exported and imported another blog so not sure why this didn’t work. Please help? What do I do? Can something be reset so I can try the import again? Or what is the solution?

    Hi there,

    The importer got stuck during that import — sorry about that! I just reset your site’s importer so you can try that import again. Please let me know if you continue to have trouble with that. :)
