Import from blogger
-
Hey,
I imported my blog from blogger. In blogger I had 618 posts in all but only 434 posts are imported. Similarly, there were 1243 comments in blogger of which only 496 comments are imported. Whats the reason for this.
Some of the big posts in blogger are not imported into wordpress. Also, its not clear what are the posts which were not imported.
Would there be some modifications possible by which I can know which posts were not imported. Also, why all posts are not imported. -
I am not familiar with the actual Blogger export file, but I know that with the wordpress and MT ones, when you import them it will not bring in the duplicate entries, so running the import again shouldn’t bring in the ones you already have. If that is the case, then try getting a ‘new’ copy of your export file and make sure all 1243 comments and 618 posts are in it before importing.

Trent: there is not blogger file export, as far as I can see this is by WP directly at blogger through the Google (blogger) API set.
Talking about which… I have had some troubles importing from Blogger. The first step is to authorize WP to access my google account, which I grant. However, after this, I get returned to the wordpress.com home page, and not to some subsequent import page. When I return to the Import from Blogger page at WP, I have to do authentication again.
Any idea what’s going on, or what I do wrong?
(Using Firefox 2.0 with all standard settings, behind firewall but no proxy)Thanks

Try unmarking your blog from private to public for the time being and then try it again.
Can’t believe someone actually gave their setup. I wish more folks would…

Kivaramon, I am having the same problem tyring to import from blogger. My blog is public, so I don’t know what is going on. But it’s a bit frustrating… it just keeps sending me in circles. Anyone know how to fix this? Help?
Thanks!
