Import from Blogger
-
I tried importing the .xml file, but I get this message: There does not appear to be any authors in your WordPress import file.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi traveltourcruise, are you using the Blogger import tool? I ask because it seems strange that the message would say ‘In your WordPress import file.’ Please clarify this and we can troubleshoot further.
Are you following this tutorial? https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-blogger/

Another possibility is your blogger site is outdated, you could try to update your blog to a newer version. Be sure to backup your blog before making any changes. See here: https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/41387?hl=en
See this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/import-error-there-does-not-appear-to-be-any-authors-in-your-wordpress-import-file?replies=4
Once you update your blog, run the export again.

I used the “Backup Content” in Blogger to generate an .xml file. This is supposed to backup posts, pages and comments. When I dragged it to the import box, I got that message.

Hi again,
When you say “I dragged it to the import box” what page are you on? Please copy the URL address here so I can see.
Could you try exporting another copy of your blogger site then going to this link (please make the necessary modifications) https://%5Byourcoolwebsite%5D.com/wp-admin/admin.php?import=blogger
This should take you to the blogger import tool. Choose the new XML file and click Upload File and Import. If the file is over 2GB in size, you will need to request additional help from the support staff.

Thanks for all your help. I clicked on “other importers” under the import box and it seems to work. It is now being processed.
