Import from Blogger

  Can’t import from blogger. Google Accounts Access states that “http://wordpress.com” is not registered. Assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is a workaround attempt for a self-hosted WordPress blog that can’t import from blogger. That issue has been logged on the wordpress.org support forums.

  Also having this problem, must be a systemic issue.

  “The page you have requested cannot be displayed. Another site was requesting access to your Google Account, but sent a malformed request. Please contact the site that you were trying to use when you received this message to inform them of the error. A detailed error message follows:

  The site “http://wordpress.com” has not been registered.”

  @blgmprt – Help for self-hosted blogs is at http://wordpress.com/support so you were right to post there. Nobody here can help as we use different software.

  Ella: I believe that there is no Blogger -> Wp.ORG import option. I vaguely remember seeing threads on here where people were advised to or mentioned that they imported it here first and then used the standard wp.COM export to import it at wp.ORG.

  It’s late and I’m not making sense, but perhaps someone else remembers this?

  However, the blogger to wp import is mentioned in this thread, too. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cannot-import-from-blogger-1?replies=18 Are you all experiencing this issue?

  I’d never heard that, Cat. Thank you. It seems like such a roundabout way to do things. Out of curiosity I checked the other forum and learned it should be possible to import directly into a wp.org blog but apparently it’s not working…and the workaround with a wp.com blog isn’t either.

  I’m getting the same issue as OP. The very reason I signed up was because WP lured me in with “keep your existing posts from blogger [etc], with import tools”. And that import tool, prominently displayed under “Import”, seems to be broken. Acknowledged issue or is there a workaround for it… other than jumping through 500 more hoops?

  Word of “business advice” for WordPress… having to “work around” acknowledged issues with the site, with support providing no help at all, is the reason I’m switching from Blogger. Getting kinda tired of hunting around for blog hosting options…
