Import from localhost to wp.com?

    Hey, all! I blew up my website a while back because I no longer had the resources to host and service my own site. I made a backup and have it up and fully functioning on a local server, hooray! But when I try and use the export/import process, my media (all the pictures under uploads) don’t come with. As I understand it, the xml file doesn’t include that content, but rather tells the new host (wp.com in this case) where to find it. But since it’s localhost and not on a live site, I’m guessing it can’t find that media?

    IS there a way to fully import/restore my site from localhost to WordPress.com, or am I out of luck here? I’d really rather not go back and re-upload all 299 images, and I’d prefer to use WordPress.com from now on. Thanks so much.

    Hi there,

    If you have deleted the first site, I am afraid media files cannot be imported to the new WordPress.com site. Only textual content can be imported from the .xml file you have.
