Import from SquareSpace

    I received this from SquareSpace – can I do this directly onto WooCommerce (as in WooCommerce.com, 14 day free trial) or must I start at WordPress and then upgrade to WooCommerce:

    If you wish, you can export content from your Squarespace site into an .xml file. This file can import to WordPress. Our export file isn’t designed for compatibility with other platforms. If you’re using a platform other than WordPress and are comfortable trying, you can try uploading the file to that platform. However, we can’t guarantee all of the content will import in the same way. This guide will show you how to export your content to an .xml file:

    Hi there,

    We do not offer Woo Express directly on WordPress.com, but it is our understanding that during the trial period you do not have access to some functions, such as the ability to import. It is possible to import on our Woo Express site, but only after you pay to retain the Woo Express plan on your account.

    If you need to start with a an import that is possible here on WordPress.com however. You can import using our tool here: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-from-squarespace/

    WooCommerce is not included on free WordPress.com sites, but is a plugin you can upload by upgrading to our Business or Commerce plans. Either plan will allow you to upload any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress” as well as give you all the managed hosting benefits we discuss here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/
