Import from Tumblr froze?
-
It appears that my import as frozen at 3598 / 14897 posts, I think it’s been frozen at that number for approx. 24 hours. Please help! Also, I uploaded a different tumblr, but all the images are still linking back to tumblr, which is a huge problem as those images may be deleted.

Hi iwantmyiwtv,
It appears the Tumblr import on your site has now failed, so I’ve reset the importer so you can try again.
If it seems to take long, please be patient and don’t try cancelling the process yourself – we’re still experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted, but it could be a few days before your new import is processed.
If some posts have already imported they will be skipped by the importer during your next attempt, so they should not be duplicated.

Can you send a link to the post where this is happening?

Hi gemmacevans,

Thanks! My internet connection has been a little spotty this week so we may need to restart the import a few times.I uploaded a different tumblr, but all the images are still linking back to tumblr

Here’s one example:
If you right-click on the image in that post, it is hosted on tumblr at this address:

However, on a much older post, the image in the post appears to be hosted by WordPress:
As you can see, this image is hosted correctly at this WordPress url:

Once the import starts, it’s all about the connection between our servers and theirs. You could even turn off your computer if you wanted to. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the connections are a bit overwhelmed right now with so many people trying to export.
About the images, is there any chance you ran out of media library space while importing? I noticed you have an upgraded plan now, but if it ran out of space during the import it wouldn’t have been able to pull in all the images.
