Import from typepad with extra folders that has all the images for the posts

This is on Typepad site, “Images and uploaded files hosted on your Typepad blog will not be imported. Most sidebar modules, ad modules and scripts are not supported by WordPress.com. You can request an export of all uploaded images and files”.

So I did request it and they let me download them which come with a folder. That folder, however, has all the images that I use in the posts but I don’t know how to upload or import them into wordpress so it would look like I have move my blog from typepad to wordpress without anything missing.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You should have an export file with a .txt extension that you can use in our Movable Type importer (https://sabrinahuang.wordpress.com/wp-admin/import.php). If TypePad allows you to include images and files in your export, that’s great, but it will need to be in a format WordPress.com understands. Sidebars, other ‘modules’ and scripts cannot be imported into WordPress.com regardless of format.

Assuming you have one or more .txt files, you should be able to import them by choosing the Movable Type/TypePad importer at the link above. If you have a .zip folder, your import file(s) should be inside that. If not, you will need to generate a different type of export file from TypePad.

I upload the .txt file and it looks ok for the most part. But some area didn’t turn out right. For example,

    – the front page/lending page didn’t looks like the theme I bought.
    this is my blog http://sabrinahuang.wordpress.com/
    this is the theme http://imbalance2demo.wordpress.com/
My blog doesn’t show photos like the theme does, and I don’t know why.

In order to make your site look like the demo, you’ll need to do some additional tweaks.

To begin with, you will need to assign featured images to each post in order for there to be images showing up on the home page:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

Posts with videos, like you have for at least one of your posts, will automatically show an image.

For more information on the free theme Imbalance2, see:

As far as purchases, you actually didn’t buy this theme but you did purchase the Premium upgrade. For more information on what that includes, see:

The video one didn’t automatically show an image, I add a image to it.

Thanks for the links. I will take a look to learn more.
