Import from Weebly not working

    I am trying to import my pages from Weebly to WordPress. I’ve followed the instructions posted in the support guide and my files are in a compressed zip folder. But each time I try to upload it just says “oops something went wrong.” I’ve tried several times now, including with the unzipped version of the folder and no good.

    Hello @tjjourian,

    Thanks for sharing what you’ve tried so far. The issue comes from uploading a ZIP file. WordPress.com can only import a Weebly XML file. Here’s the way to get the right file and complete the import:

    1. Go to http://weeblytowp.com/
    2. Enter your site details and choose the WXR export format.
    3. If you want your pages included, select that option and click Export my Weebly Website.
    4. When it finishes, click Download Your Weebly Export File. This gives you the XML file you need.

    Once you have the XML file:

    1. Log in to your WordPress.com dashboard.
    2. Go to Tools → Import and choose the WordPress option.
    3. Click upload it to import content, and upload the XML file you downloaded.
    4. Assign the imported content to a user when prompted.
    5. Start the import and wait for it to finish.
