  I started to import a WordPress site but it has not completed within the 24 hour timeframe. Please help,

  Hi Mike,
  If you are still waiting on the importer to finish, a WordPress.com staff member will probably have to reset it. For that add “modlook” to the tags section in this forum thread.

  Hi there,

  It looks like you’re trying to import a 70MB file. However, our importer has a file size limit of 15MB, so you will need to split up that file into smaller pieces before you’ll be able to import it.

  If you are exporting from a WordPress website, you should be able to create incremental export files by only exporting posts from a few months at a time.

  I have also reset the importer for you so you can try again once you’ve split up that file.

  Oh… I see.

  Turns out there was a crazy amount of spam comments waiting to be approved (I’m helping out a friend). Deleting those brought the import file size right down and it worked a charm.
