Import from WordPress installation not working?

  I am attempting to import 43 posts and 5 pages from a WordPress installation onto WordPress.com. The site is 22.66MB, but when I click Import, it results in a blank screen. When I go back, it says it is processing, but the posts and pages are always missing. Help?

  Hi there!

  I don’t see anything that would prevent you from importing – so I tried to restart the import for you and I noticed that there are two author attributes in the import file, but only one user on the WordPress.com site. To import, all the posts need to be either attributed to an existing user or to import the author information.

  Before I do that, let me know how I should proceed with the author import: Import author or assign posts to your existing user account.

  I have restarted the import process. Please note it may take up to a day to fully import all of your content, depending on how many images and other files that were in the original export. I will post a response here once the import has completed.

  Hi there, the content still is not on my site, and it has been more than a full day. Could you try what you did before again please? I think there might have been a problem with the xml file, but the posts and pages are still missing.

  It’s a 20kb (1 page and 40 posts) xml.

  @smalltalksaboutus: I checked your system history and I show that your import completed successfully with one page and 40 posts. Did you still need help?

  I made a dummy site, imported it to that, then exported it to the site I wanted it on originally, and that put the items in the trash, where I retrieved them from. All set!
