Import from WordPress self-hosted site to PETMobilityProject.org incorrect?
-
Import of export from WordPress self-hosted site mis-handled page Mini-Newsletter 2.1 September 2012. The page was a child of Mini-Newsletters Volume 2 at the self-hosted site, PETInternational.org. It does not show properly as a child after the import, but the header shows a non-existent page by that title. See http://petmobilityproject.org/mini-newsletter-2-1-september-2012/.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
To better understand what you are mean you say your page does not show properly as a child after the import, can you give me a little more background information?
- How did this look on your self-hosted WordPress site, or how would it look here, if it was imported properly?
- Is there an example on your site here where a child is being displayed properly after import, for comparison’s sake?
Any additional details you can provide would be a great help, thanks!

I’m not sure what more to say. The problem was resolved somehow, so I assumed someone from Automattic had intervened without saying anything. This is the sequence of events as I understand it:
1. I did a full export from PETInternational.org
2. I did an import to PETMobilityProject.org
3. I noticed the anomaly before receiving the import successful email notification.
4. The anomaly was still present after receiving that notification.
5. I posted the above notice
6. The anomaly disappeared, i.e., the erroneous header element is gone and the 2.1 mini-newsletter is now present at petmobilityproject.org/newsletters/mini-newsletters-volume-2/mini-newsletter-2-1-september-2012/.
7. I made minor changes.CHS

Makes sense, as it appeared to be correct when I checked it.
I suspect that your browser may be caching the page before the change was made, which is why you see an out-of-date view. Next time you see something strange like that, it’s a good idea to try clearing out your browser’s cache and cookies, try a different browser, or a different computer if you can, and see if the problem persists.

I anticipated that might be possible before posting the notice. Though I normally use Chrome, I also tried IE 9 rather than clearing cache/cookies in Chrome. I’m pretty sure I’d never visited that site with IE 9 on this computer before.
