Import from WordPress.org to WordPress.com pull featured images but not set

  Hello,

  Moving back to WordPress.com hosting after having a WordPress installation hosted elsewhere. Importing from WordPress.org does pull featured images that were set in the post but doesn’t save them as the featured images in the posts anymore. Can you help? I can send my import file to you if that helps too.

  Hi Tracy – I see most of your media files came over as unattached. Are they attached to your posts in the Media Library in your self-hosted site? If so, we should perhaps try emptying your WordPress.com site and then you run the export/import again to see if they come over as attached this time. I’ll send you an email too, so you can send along your import file and I can test it out.
