Import from wp-content/uploads to wordpress.com

  Hi,

  I’ve successfully imported my blog posts from a self hosted wordpress.org site to a wordpress.com site, but image files which lived in wp-content/uploads/YYYY/MM/ don’t seem to have come along. Is there any way to copy those to a wordpress.com media directory and preserve the directory structure such that the links in the post will work again?

  I have a separate xml export of the posts and pages, and a separate export of the uploads directory.

  Hi @merpel, did you still need help with this?

  Typically the images will be imported automatically if they are accessible. If not, did only a few come through or were they all blocked?

  Also, can you confirm what sites you’re exporting from and importing into?
