Import from WP self-hosted–no images??

I’m trying to move my self-hosted site to WordPress.com. I’ve done an export from the self-hosted, and an import to my new site at WordPress.com. All of the posts, pages and comments, etc. are there. However, the media ‘items’ are only sort of there–there are a lot of blank squares in the Media page and when you click on them you see the details of the uploads, but not the actual images, and the images are not showing up in the posts.

Is this something that will be resolved when I connect my domain to my new blog on WordPress.com, or is there something else I need to do?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A little more information, in hopes that it will help with a solution:

If I right-click where an image is supposed to be in a post and choose “View image” you get this message on a blank white page:

We cannot complete this request, remote data could not be fetched

I think I know why this didn’t work.

The site that I did the import from wasn’t active for a few months, and though I just put it back online on a different server yesterday when I did the import, the domain name still hasn’t propagated to the proper IP address where the site is now.

Once the dns resolves, will the images then be imported to the site on wordpress.com, or do I need to delete all the posts and do the entire import again from the beginning?

I just decided to delete all posts/pages/media and do the import again rather than wait any longer for help. It seems to be working now.

    Marking this as resolved.
