Import from wp.com to wp.org

  Hi, can you help me to import my followers, subscribers and stats from my wordpress blog vpervalentina.wordpress.com to my self hosted site vpervalentina.it? Thank you!

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Sorry for the double post, I’ve just noticed that someone of my subscribers have already subscribed my new site by themselves, can you migrate the few others? Thanks again!

  Hi there,

  Sure thing! Before I do, though, I want to point out one change after those subscribers are moved to your self-hosted site:

  Your email followers will continue to receive email updates, and your WordPress.com followers will continue to see your new posts in the Reader. However, your WordPress.com followers won’t receive email updates after the move. If your WordPress.com followers would like to continue receiving email updates, as well, they can subscribe via email on your new blog. (Some people like to make one final post on their old blog to let their followers know about that change.)

  Please let me know if you have any questions about that! If you’re ready for me to move your subscribers to your new site, let me know and I’ll go ahead and do that for you. :)

  Hi Rachel,
  thank you very much for yours explanation and advice, but unfortunately I did the redirect 2 weeks ago without a final post on my wordpress blog… I was so happy for the new site that I underestimated this issue so… let’s go with the migration! :))

  I understand your excitement. :) I finished migrating your subscribers/followers and your stats, so you’re all set with that! Please let me know if I can do anything more to help.

  (Now I can go look at your recipes and try to translate some of them — the pictures look really yummy!)

  I’m sorry to annoying you, but do you know if there is a way to delete duplicated subscribers? Someone of the old subscribers has already subcribed the new site by themselves…

  Hi Valentina,

  Sorry about that! Our system is supposed to watch out for duplicates like that and not add subscribers twice. I’m checking with our team to fix that for you, and I’ll let you know once I get an update about that.
