Import from WP.org to WP.com fail – only categories import
-
Hello,
I am trying to export a single category from my old WP.org blog (www.anotherwriter.net) to a WP.com blog (www.couponsnob.net).
I exported the category I wanted into the XML file and then imported into the new blog. I got the “success” email, but the only thing that appeared to actually import was categories. No posts or anything else…
I tried assigning the posts to the “default” as well as the admin user and it only was a partial import both times.
Any suggestions?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I did some testing…
Coincidentally, I needed to export the full WP.org site and import it to a different WP.com site (www.cricketscorner.wordpress.com). All categories. That worked just fine.
But when I try to export only one category of posts from the old WP.org site, it fails to fully import to the new WP.com site.
I am lost now. :)

<blockquote. old WP.org blog
Did you upgrade your WordPress.org install soo it’s running on the the most recent stable version of WordPress, prior to creating the export file?

I’m not clear on this. Are you attempting to create duplicate content on multiple sites?

I am moving my site from my hosted version to a free version. I plan to take down the old content once I finish moving what I want/need.
