Import from Xanga has been "processing" for several weeks?

    My import from Xanga has been “processing” for weeks now. I have 9 files to import from my old Xanga account. I think I made it through 2 of the 9 and then it quit. Every time I go to the import page, it says:

    “Processing… We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.”

    How do I get this fixed and finish the remainder of my import files?

    Note that you must open the .zip export folder you get from Xanga and import ALL of the files included in the .zip folder individually.

    Thanks for the reset. I attempted the upload again – but it is hung up “processing” for a few weeks again. I’m not sure why this is happening. I successfully uploaded 2/9 files, but the 3rd file keeps hanging up during upload and says:

    “Processing…
    We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.”

    Is there another way I can go about this upload?

    Hi Derek,

    Sometimes the importer gets “stuck” and needs to be reset, which can be frustrating, but I am happy to assist you any time it happens.

    What I would recommend is that you try using a different browser to see if that helps, or possibly switch from the Xanga importer to the general WordPress importer tool.

    For Xanga imports, each file should complete the import within a few minutes (which you will know either by receiving an email or because the importer will allow you to upload your next file). If you get stuck again, please just post here right away, and I’ll reset it again.

    How many more files do you have to import?

    Thanks for the advice. I’ll try those variations (browser / importer).

    I have 9 files total. Thus far 2 successful, 7 remaining to upload.
