Import full site from a WP self hosted .tar.gz backup file

    Hi,
A few years ago I built a site on WP. Unfortunately, my host having gone bankrupt, I saw my site go out. I just received a .tar.gz file by court order. Now that I am questioning WHERE will I host it, I consult your price list and I would like you to be interested in posting it here because I tell myself that there is nothing better than WordPress to support a site. created from WP ;-)
On the other hand, I cannot IMPORT my file and my knowledge is limited. Could someone help me please?!

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

I tell myself that there is nothing better than WordPress to support a site. created from WP ;-)

    You bet it its! :)

The file you received contains all the files necessary for the migration process, but unfortunately, it can’t be done with just one click. You would need to open the file as explained here. From there, you’d need the database and the wp-content folder.

On plan Business, you’ll have tools like FTP, phpMyAdmin, or SSH to migrate those files. You’d also get live chat support, so we’ll be happy to guide you through the process:

Depending on the budget you have for this project, you may also be interested in having the site built for you. We offer that service too: https://wordpress.com/support/built-by-wordpress-com/.

I’m hoping that helps, but let me know if you have more doubts.
