Import Function not working.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I tried to import content from another blog into this one and it was not successful. The other blog is a WordPress.com blog. We tried to import the .xml file with the blog posts, however, the import only adds the file as a media attachment. Please advise.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the wordpress.COM hosted site you refer to please?

    And, exactly which wordpress.COM username account registered that site?

    What is the size of the import file?

    Hi @benenoach, if your export was in a .zip, can you unzip it first, then use the import process listed here?

    Hi @timethief, @supernovia, it is now working. When I tried to use the import function before, it would not import the file. In the old WP Admin when I clicked to start the Import process it would not show the “Choose File” so that I could attach the .xml file. In the newer dashboard, it imported the file as an attachment, nothing done. I take it the engineers have worked out a bug. The blog being imported was very small, only 24 posts with no images/media, text only. Thanks.

    @benenoach ah. The file will upload and be in the media library while the import is in progress. When it finishes it automatically deletes. Do note it can just take a while to import media and what not. But I can see it’s done now. Let us know if you need more help.
