Import function not working.

  I am testing the fit and function of WordPress to re-host my existing GoDaddy site. I am using the free plan to see if I like your system. The import function fails to copy my existing web data to my site.

  The import function fails to copy my existing web data to my site.

  Can you let us know what’s missing? We’ll take a look and see if we can sort this out. Also, what’s the current web site link?

  I am trying to import from GoDaddy site http://www.menifeeseniorsoftball.com/ to WordPress site https://wordpress.com/home/jerrycallahan66.wordpress.com

  I am running import from my PC WordPress.com.exe program.

  Yesterday, after a long time, the import function found the site and showed a preview of the home page. Then, after an even longer delay, it stopped with an error. Today I am trying it again to get the number but now I get “Unable to load site preview. Please try again later.”

  The import appears to have worked, but you have thrown out a number of posts and pages since.

  Are you trying to re-run the importer?

  If so, please try from https://wordpress.com/migrate/jerrycallahan66.wordpress.com instead.

  Yes, I have tried several times to import from both the PC WordPress.com and from the wordpress.com website.

  No, all the pages that I currently have and those that I have trashed were hand generated from the original files or copy-pasted into the WordPress editor. There are several pages and media files that are not yet in my WordPress test website that exist in the original website. I was hoping the import would grab them for me.

  I tried again today. I got the preview page to show-up. However, the import said it was running but it quit without importing anything. Today there was no error message; just no results.

  I am giving up on the import.

  It looks like the importer on your site might have stalled, so I’ve reset that. Do you want to try again? Make sure to empty the trash folder under Posts before you retry the import.

  How many posts and pages respectively do you have on the current site? And how many of each are not importing? Could you give a link to a specific post/page on the current site that’s not importing on this end?
