Import Issue from Tumblr
-
Hi – I’m trying to migrate from Tumblr to WordPress. Most of my blog imported ok, but there are a handful of blog posts that didn’t. When I click into the blogpost to edit, I get the following error message: ‘Invalid Post Address. This post cannot be found. Check the web address or start a new post.’
The posts display fine on WordPress, but I cannot edit it at all. I’ve tried modifying the url on my tumblr blog, and re-importing and that didn’t work. I’ve tried duplicating the post on WordPress, which also doesn’t work. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I’ve tagged WordPress.com staff to help you with this issue. You’ll likely receive a response within a few hours from a staff member: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question
Hope this gets resolved soon. :)

Hi @readysetroadtrip, could you send links or titles for a few of the affected posts so we’ll know which ones to check?
-
Unfortunately, I can’t find the title for these particular posts, which I suspect may be driving the problem?
The edit hyperlink is directing toward an address, which says is an Invalid Post Address. Ex: https://wordpress.com/post/readysetroadtrip.wordpress.com/219If you look at https://readysetroadtrip.wordpress.com/page/8/ all the posts on this page (with the exception of the video) are having this issue where I can’t click into the post to edit.
-
Hmm. Can you test to see whether you’re able to edit the posts without titles here?

I did not get the same error when I clicked that link. I did notice the post has no title, though. If you’re willing to give it a title, that may help.

I haven’t been able to edit the post whether I click into the post directly, or via the My Site sidebar.
I’m totally willing to give it a title, but I haven’t figured out how to do that without clicking to edit the post. Is there a way to add a title without being in the post editor? Otherwise, I’m stumped on how to add a title. -
What do you mean you’re not able to edit? What happens when you try to edit?
If the editor won’t open, it would indicate a problem with your browser – I can edit all posts on your site without any problems.
Please try clearing your browser cache, make sure you have JavaScript enabled in your browser, and disable any ad-blocker or anti-tracking plugins you might have active in your browser – those might be blocking code that the editor needs to work.
Also try logging in in an incognito browser session, or try using a completely different browser to see if that helps.

Solved it! I think there was some issue with how my galleries on the problem posts imported.
I tried everything you suggest, but the winner was clearing both my browser cache and cookies after editing each problem post (and deleting the imbedded galleries). This meant after each edit I had to re-sign in.
It was a pain, but I was able to revise each problem post and can now edit without issue.Thank you for your help and solving my problem!

Wow, that does sound difficult. If you’re still going through them, try an incognito window instead. Might be slightly less painful.
In any case I’m glad it’s working for you now!
