  I recently had a blog on patheos.com (which used a wordpress back end) that has been decommissioned. I have obtained an export file from patheos to be able to reconstruct my blog on wordpress.

  Unfortunately, when I try to import the exported xml file, the import process hangs after asking me to assign authors for my posts.

  Your importer at http://randommormonmusings.wordpress.com/ should be clear now.

  Could you try importing again at Tools -> Import?

  Interesting. The posts appear to have been imported without any notice on the import page.
