import large xml file. migration from tiscali help needed

problem with importing 35 mb xml file. now the import process it seems to be freezed and I cannot do anything else but waiting from 2 days. please kill the process and help me staff
it’s a quite new blog mariopischeddainmovement.wordpress.com.
in these days blog.tiscali.it a large italian blog provider is quitting its platform an I guess many of these user will migrate to wordpress. Many blog has 15 years of activity and large xml files are willing to be processed. Please put a focus on that issue

Hi there,
I’ve reset the importer on your site so you can try again.
However, please note we have a 15Mb file size limit on import files. If your export file is bigger than this, please try doing an incremental export instead where you only export a few months’ worth of content at a time, or else you’ll need to use an XML Splitter app to split the file into smaller pieces before you import them.

Hi All,
I’m experiencing the same issue: trying to import a 36 MB xml file from tiscali blog and getting the following error message:
“Importa WordPress
Using LIBXML_COMPACT Using LIBXML_PARSEHUGE
Si è verificato un errore.
Questo non è un file WXR, numero di versione WXR mancante/non valido”.Then, I tried splitting the file in 4 parts (using WXR file splitter) but nothing changed (same error message).

Could you please help me fix the issue?

I don’t see any stuck imports on your site. Can you please create your own thread at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 and tag it with “modlook”, and we can help you there.
