Import media from self-hosted to wordpress.com

  Hi, I was wondering if there’s a way to import media from a self-hosted wordpress blog to wordpress.com. I have a 3.5 years old self-hosted blog that I want to move here. I know there’s a tool for importing posts, comments and bla bla bla, but I have also 3.5 years worth of embeded images so I was wondering if there was a way for making the upload easy? even if I have to change the post links to images by hand this would be helpful.

  Images I’m afraid will have to be moved over manually through the admin area. There is no way to FTP them or anything like that. Also, as you import them, the URL’s will change which means you are going to have to edit each post and correct the URL’s.

  how do i import my self hosted wordpress blog here?

  Go to tools > import.
