When i import my blog from expedia to wordpress, the page is blocked on this message: Importation WordPress

It’s the same problem on my other blog surlescheminsblog1.wordpress.com
Are they too heavy to be imported???

Hi there,
I had a look at the file you had tried to import and I see it’s over 40MB. We have a limit on import files of only 15MB, so that is the reason your import is failing.
Is it possible for you to get a new export from your other site that contains smaller files? If, for example, you only export a few months worth of content at a time it will result in smaller files that should work.
I have also reset the importers on both your sites so you’ll be able to try again once you have smaller files.

The import file doesn’t contain media files, only posts, pages and comments. We transfer the media files once importing the posts completes.
If you include fewer posts in a file at a time, that should be all that’s needed so it works. Also make sure you don’t take the old site offline before the images are all transferred.

I could split the files with WXR splitter (6 small files).
I wanted to do the same with cheminsdegironde but import page is blocked again! Is there a problem with this blog? I ( 6,63×4 ) (6.61 and 2.41 ) to import. Thank you very much for your answer. -
For https://surlescheminsblog1.wordpress.com/ it does look like all six files imported, but the only way to really verify it is to look at your content. Do you see all the posts you wanted to import on that page? If so, then the import was successful.
The last file you tried to import to https://cheminsdegironde.wordpress.com/ was 35MB big. As I said above, our file size limit is 15MB, but smaller is better. I have reset the importer, but you will need to split that file into smaller pieces as well before it will import properly.

I loaded the 6 small xml files on the blog Gironde . I just have one question for you : the loaded medias have the address of the new blogs. But right-click on the photos in an article to display ” picture info ” always indicate address of the old blog . For example

How long ago did your last import complete? I see there are already about 14000 images in your media library, so it could be that we’re still busy transferring those images from the previous site.
If by tomorrow the images are still linking to the old site, let me know and I can ask a developer to try an import anything that hasn’t made it across yet. But the old site will need to stay online and public at it’s current domain for that to work.
Just to be safe, I suggest you also try to get a full backup of all the images you had on your old site. This is just in case not all the images get transferred correctly and you need to add them back manually.

The links are always those pictures of old files HTML. I began to attach medias to their original folder, but right-click on the photos in an article to display ” picture info ” anything more info do ! I’m a bit lost and I need a lot of help !!!

Can you please give the links of all the new sites where you have this problem? If we are able to fix this, we will need to do it on the new sites as we don’t have access to your old sites.

They loaded the correct link in the Media folder but retain the old link in the articles ( in the display html text). Is there a faster way to change everything at once because with the number of photos i have for months!

Thanks for the links. It looks like the images were all imported, but only the links are still pointing to the old sites.
I’m asking our developers to see if they can fix that. I’ll let you know once I hear back from them.

Hi there,
We’ve been able to fix the links to your images and import the images that were still missing from your media library. However, there were still images in a few posts on surlescheminsblog1.wordpress.com that we could not retrieve. You will need to re-upload those manually.
I am sending you an email with the links to those posts where there are still missing images.
Also make sure, as I said earlier, that you make a full backup of your old sites. Make sure this is a backup that includes all your photos, not just an export file.

I replaced the missing images and associated the links. They are all the links towards the Picasa albums which disappeared but that does not pose a problem to me. I thank you much for your listening, your effectiveness and especially your patience. And like says it the French expression “me removed you a large spine of the foot”!
