Import not working?

  I have a follow-up thing. I used a tutorial to make my export fil from the old blog. It’s in swedish, but the piks are ok… but old…

  according to the auther, it has been a direct way to do this…

  I’m not sure what import selection to tell you to use though. Generally you go to tools > import and then select the type of blog you want to import and then select the export file and it proceeds automatically from there.

  Again, it would be best to talk directly with support. They probably know or can find out. We volunteers here in the forums don’t have access to all the information they have available to them.

  Actually I just looked at one of the images and they are saying to choose that you want to import a “wordpress” blog. Go to tools > import, select that you want to import a wordpress blog and then locate the export file on your computer and see what happens. It isn’t going to mess anything up if it doesn’t work.

  You are welcome. Those images are from back around wordpress version 2.3. We are now on 3.1.2 here and there have been many changes.

  Yes I can see that…

  now I’ve found another problem thou…Accordingly to an admin-comment in the link I posted above xml and wxr is supposed to be the same thing.

  My export is in xml and when I tried to upload it wordpress complains abut it not being a wxr

  All help is mighty appreciated.

  You are going to have to contact staff directly then. I’m sure that they will be able to import it for you. They have a lot of tools they can use that are not available to us.
