Import Not Working – PLEASE TAG FOR STAFF
-
I have now posted this multiple times to the forum. I know that you guys are seeing this and passing it over. Please tag this post for staff help. This is an issue where it literally says on the WordPress site to “contact support.” I need to be able to actually get support. Here is the issue:
When I go to Tools > Import and then the WordPress importer, I am immediately taken to a page that says:
“Processing… We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.”
At no point do I see that page that allows me to actually upload files to import, which I see with all the other types of importers. Instead, I see this page that comes after it, as if I somehow uploaded a file which I didn’t.
Apparently, one of my admins uploaded a file about a week ago. It has been far longer than 24 hours for the import to finish.
Thanks.

This is not okay. I have paid hundreds of dollars in WordPress upgrades and have been a loyal customer for over 5 years now. I was disappointed when wp stopped its support email but this is rediculous if I can’t even get the slightest help on the forum if my problem is even somewhat difficult to solve.

If you will look in the sidebar you will see it has been tagged for staff. What else can the volunteers in the forum do?

Hi there,
Sorry for the long delay in response.
I have removed the job from your queue – it wasn’t progressing at all, so I suspect it either wasn’t a WordPress.com export file, or it wasn’t an XML file. I’m not sure you’ll know the answer either since it sounds like you didn’t initiate the job.
Your importer is now freed up to begin a new job. I’ll leave this thread open so if you run into any issues, just post back here and I’ll see it.
Cheers!
