import not working with embedded image urls

    I am trying to import all posts and images from fightzone-stockholm<dot>com to fightzone-stockholm<dot>com to fightzonemail<dot>wordpress<dot>com

    Imports of the posts went successfully, but the images just have a link to the old URL like this: http://fightzone-stockholm.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/11951188_1645072089072701_2390938445922956728_n.jpg

    The images are inserted with the ‘faster image insert’ plugin and they are therefore uploaded to the media folder and then inserted as full direct URL’s in the posts.

    Hi there,

    At your old blog, were those images inserted as attachments to your posts, from the media library? I’m not sure how that plugin inserts images.

    Also, your previous site fightzone-stockholm.com is down at the moment. At the time of import, was the website up and accessible? Because the importer tries to fetch image attachments and the process can fail if the site isn’t accessible.

    You might want to try again once the site is up. I’m tagging this thread for Staff attention nonetheless.

    Hi ethis,

    The plugin inserts images in the same way that embedding them does, by adding them to the media library and then appending the URL of the image to the post. Below is an image added with wordpress native image embed:

    The blog was up all the time, and I got a nice confirmation email of the success of the import.

    Let’s wait for a staff member to get to this thread. There have been issues in the past where the ‘import success’ message was sent, but the image source was still linking back to the old blog, rather than the new media library, so it will help if you check your media library and see if the images are imported.

    If not, could be an issue with site not being accessible, as the importer had access to your XML (posts etc., so success) but not the images.
