Import of XML file stops / Move blog to self-host
-
Hello,
I would like to move my WP blog to a self-hosted web space. The blog is photos only (~60 pics per post). I used the standard export/import method. 3 XML files (~2MB each) were created. When I import them, the import stops after about 30 seconds and exactly 40 pictures. If I select only two posts for export (a few kb file size), the same problem shows up during import. I guess it is related to the high number of pictures in each post. With Chrome, it stops after 40 pictures, with Firefox I can do like 80 until it stops.
If I import a post with less than 40 pics, everything is working properly.
Any idea how I can move the entire blog? Thank you so much.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
This is when you’re importing on the self-hosted site? You are most likely hitting a memory limit at your hosting provider that’s causing the import to time out. As we don’t have any access to or control over your self-hosted site we’re not able to help with this, but the users in the self-hosted forums might be able to point you to a solution as they are bound to have run into this issue before.

Thank you for your answer. I contacted the hosting provider and they increased file size limit, memory limit, time out etc. Still, the import stops after roughly one minute.
Is there any alternative way to get my data from the WP.com installation?

The XML export file is the only export option we have.
Please ask in the self-hosted forums as I suggested above. They should have more experience with this issue and more ideas on what you can do.
