import pages from another wordpress site

  I want to import pages from one wordpress site to another but when I go to Import – wordpress, the site asks me to choose a file from my computer. My wordpress site is not on my computer

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello,

  you´ve first to export your pages on the other WordPress site. Is this a selfhosted WordPress site?

  If so, then go to Tools > Export and choose your content, what to export. You´ll get a file. This file is needed to import it into your new site.

  Dear coachbirgit. Thanks for the info. It isn’t a self hosted website, just a normal free WordPress one.

  I exported my zimbabwedestinations WordPress site and have a file on my computer in my downloads folder.

  I then imported this file into my patchzim WordPress site. But I can’t find the import file anywhere. Where does WordPress put it?

  Hello,

  if you´ve used the import function at Tools > Import, WordPress creates the imported pages as new in your new website.

  The import file itself is never stored into WordPress. It is needed, to bring the content into the right place.
