I had a question about something and i think its called “Aggregation” or something like that.

I wanted to know if its possable for me to populate my wordpress @ antifmradio.wordpress.com

i have another blog and i was windering if i use anything like a PINGBACK
or other plugin on that blog
that it would push posts to here at wordpress?

not sure if im explaining it right but i hope someone has an idea on it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    @antifm

We need a link to your wordpress.com blog, starting with http://
(We need to see if you have a wp.COM vs wp.ORG blog)

And where are the posts you want to import? (link as well)

wp.com supports imports from many blog platforms:

    Import a Website

Oh, sorry, I missed the link you provided:
    http://antifmradio.wordpress.com/

    What is your other blog?

If what you want is to draw content into your blog from external sources on a regular basis, then no, it is not possible at WordPress.com.

well here is one blog for example that i run
    http://www.antifmradio.com/blog

    its a wordpress script obviously

its not that i want to transfer the content into wordpress.com in a single shot
    and nothing after that

the thing i guess im trying to do is
    A) Post content on my personal blog at my own domain
    B) Automatically the same blog post appears on my wordpress.com blog

    is that possible?

Im looking at the info at the link you provided above referring IMPORT
but it says “Simply access Tools -> Import, choose your platform and follow the instructions presented.”

but when i goto my TOOLS at my wordpress.com blog
i do NOT see anything else but
    TOOLS
and the only tool provided here is “Turbo”

No, it is not possible. It is discouraged because it is a classic spammer technique.

Additionally, it’s a terrible idea (I know there are very expensive gurus running around telling people to post the same thing in multiple places, but it’s not a good idea and never has been). All search engines actively look for duplicate posts; they then severely downgrade every blog or site where the content exists.

I assume that you aren’t you aware of the duplicate content penalties

Like raincoaster says drawing content into your blog from external sources on a regular basis, is not possible at WordPress.com because that is the tool most commonly used by content thieving blog scraping sploggers and spammers.

AH HA!! well now i didnt realize that guys

thanks very much for this important info.
I was asking about it to simply save some time
but as per discussed above……. i can see why its not a good idea.

    thanks again guys
we can close this thread now.

    @antifm and wordsforwomen
Good then I’m glad we had this conversation. The blogosphere has feed sucking content thieves who have stables of free hosted blogs full of stolen content that they pimp out for Adsense pennies.

If you want an aggregator blog then you can aggregate up to 5 RSS feeds in a Tumblr blog but, they must all be feeds to your own content only.
