import problem

I am trying to import a previous blog from endlesswell.wordpress.com to siencollective.com, a wordpress.com hosted site. Basically, I exported the blog creating an XML file. Then I changed the name and design of my site using the same account . I have followed directions exactly for importing the xml back into my blog with no success. Can you please help. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your domain siencollective.com is mapped to endlesswell.wordpress.com which means they both refer to the same site.
It looks like you exported the content from the site, then deleted the content, made your changes, and now you are trying to re-import the content you deleted.
Is that the process you followed?

Ok. I’m not seeing any sign of a failed import, so let’s try one more time. Please upload your file at the link below:

If it doesn’t work this time, I’ll send you a private e-mail so you can send me the export file and see if I have better luck.
Note: In the future if you are staying on the same site, there is no need to delete the content while you make changes. You can do an export if it helps you feel more comfortable, but the actual content won’t get in the way of changing the name and design of the site at all.

thanks, liz, but there’s not much I can do at this point, because the xml file just plain disappeared from my computer. I’ve tried to recover the data in a number of ways to no avail. so unless there’s a backup of the original blog on wp, i will just have to try to recreate it from scratch. :(

If you are sure you had the file at one time, I recommend you use the Spotlight Search on your mac for “.xml” Hopefully the file is just hiding.
If you can’t find it, I’m afraid there is nothing I can do to help :(
