Import problem from old WordPress version

  While migrating from mysite.com WordPress 2.6.2 blog to Wordpres.com I encounter this major problem.
  I created an export XML file in my old blog and tried to import it to my new blog at WordPress.com with no success.
  It did went through all the right stages like mapping authors and then wrote “all done” or something like that but the posts were not imported.
  I haven’t found any similar issue in support of forums.
  Finally I open the XML file in an XML validator application and found it broken. This line appear many times in the document and was not validated ‘<excerpt:encoded><![CDATA[]]></excerpt:encoded>’.
  As it contain no information i removed all these lines and tried to import again, this time with success.
  Seems like a problem in the old version.

  did you manage to solve this problem ?

  i had similar problem but not sure if it is due to versions.
